Snow is beautiful… until you’re trying to drive around DC 😳
Winter weather typically creates a pretty treacherous commute. Allow plenty of extra time for traffic and slow, cautious driving!
Unfortunately, collisions are sometimes unavoidable. In the event you do experience a car accident, go get evaluated by a chiropractor or other healthcare provider as soon as possible.
Symptoms can take 72 hours to show up. The longer you wait to get treated, the longer the recovery process.
The Sport and Spine Rehab FREE App features a Car Accident Tool to help you easily record the necessary information at the scene of the accident. Car Accidents are overwhelming – this app will ensure you get the notes and pictures you need.
Regardless of winter weather, we DC/Virginia/Maryland drivers know what it’s like to sit in the car for a LONG TIME. Extended periods of time spent sitting in a confined space is not good for your body – specifically your neck and low back.
- Place right hand under right leg. Drop left ear to left shoulder and hold for 15-30 seconds. Then turn your head to look down toward left hip, holding for 15-30 seconds.
- Chin Tucks: sit up tall looking straight ahead. Pull the head and chin back (if you make a double chin, you’re doing it right!). Hold for 5 seconds, then release. Repeat 10x.
- Gently lower your chin to your chest and hold for 5 seconds before returning to neutral. Repeat 3-5x.
Sitting puts a lot of strain on the body, causing tight hips and low back pain. Here’s how to relieve some of the pressure and reset after sitting!
