Dr. Sarah Corcoran is a licensed chiropractor with physical therapy privileges in Virginia and Maryland. She is passionate about integrative health and takes a functional approach to the treatment of the musculoskeletal system through the evaluation of movement dysfunction and by addressing soft tissue imbalances.
Her inspiration to be a practitioner in holistic health started in middle school when she saw a chiropractor for functional nutrition and maintenance of health while playing sports. She learned through personal experience about the powerful impact integrative medicine can have on the body. This fueled her passion to explore the field and she completed an internship as a senior in high school on various branches of alternative medicine.
Her commitment to public health and service led her to further her education in mind-body medicine at Kenyon College. There she received a bachelor’s degree in the Honors Psychology Program, passing her senior thesis and comprehensive exams with distinction and was selected to be a part of the psychology honors society of Psi Chi.
Dr. Corcoran went on to pursue her doctorate of chiropractic medicine in San Jose, California at Palmer College of Chiropractic West Campus. In addition to the comprehensive curriculum, she became certified in Functional Movement Taping Performance, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and attended various relevant seminars. Dr. Corcoran expanded her learning experience by volunteering in San Jose as well as Honduras and Ecuador, and is looking forward to utilizing her Spanish while creating accessibility for patients.
